Obama: Let's Spend $1 Trillion Despite Global Economic Crisis
Polls show most Americans were against the $700 billion government rescue of the financial markets, which was not an increase in government spending, but instead an investment into financial products that will likely provide a good return on our money. While congress debated the $700 billion, American lost $1 trillion in savings. As of today, that number has increased to $2 trillion.
Despite being against the one-time rescue, polls also show that a majority now favor Senator Obama for President. Senator Obama plans to increase spending to near $1 Trillion. His plan is purely and simply a recurring increase in spending of taxpayer dollars that will require a substantial increase in taxes. His proposed plan will cripple our economy even further.
The opposition to the rescue and simultaneous supporting of increases in government spending and higher taxes, in the middle of an economic crisis, defies any logical explanation. Yet that's what Barack Obama and his supporters plan for us. God help us
Cancer Survivor Against Komen Race For the Cure
Local conservative activist and cancer survivor David Roney is speaking out against the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Roney, who recently founded Survivors For Life, an organization of cancer survivors who oppose embryonic stem cell research, opposes the Komen Foundation's duping race participants into believing that their donations go to cure breast cancer.
The Komen Foundation, as a result of donations received from the Race for the Cure, donates a considerable amount of the money they raise to Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest and most profitable abortion provider. In fact, there has long been a tight relationship between Komen and Planned Parenthood. Further, the Komen Foundation, despite all scientific evidence indicating a link between abortion and breast cancer, refuses to acknowledge any such link. In addition to funding Planned Parenthood, Komen uses a majority of the donations for cancer screening instead of researching a cure.
Roney wants the Komen Foundation to use the funds raised as advertised - too cure breast cancer, not fund abortion. Until they do, Roney will continue to educate people about the sinister duplicity of the Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure.
McCain Befriends Keating Before Felony, Obama Befriends Ayers After
In a desperate move to avert discussions about his friendship with unapologetic American terrorist William Ayers, Obama has dug up the long buried story of the Keating Five. The Keating Five was a group of five senators that were caught up in trying to influence legislation on behalf of Charles Keating during the S&L Crisis over two decades ago. Senator McCain was exonerated of any wrong doing.
What's interesting here though is the contrast of character between how Obama handles his friends and McCain handles his. After the Keating Five scandal, McCain disassociated from Charles Keating. McCain clearly showed character by not associating himself with a man of questionable character and integrity.
Obama, on the other hand, befriended William Ayers AFTER he became a terrorist. Obama also befriended Tony Resko AFTER he had committed crimes. And Obama remained in "Reverend" Wright's "church" AFTER the "reverend" spewed vicious racist and anti-American rhetoric from the pulpit.
So the contrast in character here is quite clear. Senator McCain avoids people of questionable character after that character is revealed, while Senator Obama seems to seek out questionable people who may help him further his political ambitions. Quite a contrast indeed.
Typical Public School Indoctrination or Pro-Obama Madrassa?
I think this video is frightening, not so much because of what the children are saying, but because they obviously feel that they can't be any of those things without Obama. This is the cult-like Obama following that is making many Americans very nervous. Obama is not just running for president, but spiritual leader, religious guru, and savior - at least according to many of his followers.
The other obvious issue, and why the teacher in this public school was allegedly suspended, is that school kids should not be used as political pawns to further causes supported by teachers and their unions. This is just a new case of an old story, in that regard.
Biden's Fantasy World
In the popular media wisdom, Sarah Palin is the neophyte who knows nothing about foreign policy while Joe Biden is the savvy diplomatic pro. Then what are we to make of Mr. Biden's fantastic debate voyage last week when he made factual claims that would have got Mrs. Palin mocked from New York to Los Angeles?
Start with Lebanon, where Mr. Biden asserted that "When we kicked -- along with France, we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, I said and Barack said, 'Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don't know -- if you don't, Hezbollah will control it.' Now what's happened? Hezbollah is a legitimate part of the government in the country immediately to the north of Israel."
The U.S. never kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, and no one else has either. Perhaps Mr. Biden meant to say Syria, except that the U.S. also didn't do that. The Lebanese ousted Syria's military in 2005. As for NATO, Messrs. Biden and Obama may have proposed sending alliance troops in, but if they did that was also a fantasy. The U.S. has had all it can handle trying to convince NATO countries to deploy to Afghanistan.
Speaking of which, Mr. Biden also averred that "Our commanding general in Afghanistan said the surge principle in Iraq will not work in Afghanistan." In trying to correct him, Mrs. Palin mispronounced the general's name -- saying "General McClellan" instead of General David McKiernan. But Mr. Biden's claim was the bigger error, because General McKiernan said that while "Afghanistan is not Iraq," he also said a "sustained commitment" to counterinsurgency would be required. That is consistent with Mr. McCain's point that the "surge principles" of Iraq could work in Afghanistan.
Then there's the Senator's astonishing claim that Mr. Obama "did not say he'd sit down with Ahmadinejad" without preconditions. Yet Mr. Biden himself criticized Mr. Obama on this point in 2007 at the National Press Club: "Would I make a blanket commitment to meet unconditionally with the leaders of each of those countries within the first year I was elected President? Absolutely, positively no."
Or how about his rewriting of Bosnia history to assert that John McCain didn't support President Clinton in the 1990s. "My recommendations on Bosnia, I admit I was the first one to recommend it. They saved tens of thousands of lives. And initially John McCain opposed it along with a lot of other people. But the end result was it worked." Mr. Biden's immodesty aside, Mr. McCain supported Mr. Clinton on Bosnia, as did Bob Dole even as he was running against him for President in 1996 -- in contrast to the way Mr. Biden and Democratic leaders have tried to undermine President Bush on Iraq.
Closer to home, the Delaware blarney stone also invited Americans to join him at "Katie's restaurant" in Wilmington to witness middle-class struggles. Just one problem: Katie's closed in the 1980s. The mistake is more than a memory lapse because it exposes how phony is Mr. Biden's attempt to pose for this campaign as Lunchbucket Joe.
We think the word "lie" is overused in politics today, having become a favorite of the blogosphere and at the New York Times. So we won't say Mr. Biden was deliberately making events up when he made these and other false statements. Perhaps he merely misspoke. In any case, Mrs. Palin may not know as much about the world as Mr. Biden does, but at least most of what she knows is true.
Does SNL Need A Disclaimer?
It seems Saturday Night Live might need to insert a disclaimer into its broadcast indicating that the show is a parody and not real. Many Obama supporters, including Tom Brokaw, seem to think Tina Fey is actually Sarah Palin. Brokaw, moderating Sunday's Meet The Press, showed a clip of the SNL parody and asked the esteemed panel to comment on Palin.
Other Democrats are citing comments on SNL as well, indicating they may not be able to discern fantasy from reality. As hilarious as the SNL clips are, the fact that some Democrats believe they are watching a news program is indeed troublesome.
Michigan: Obamanomics At Work
Michigan, a state that John McCain gave up on yesterday, but Michiganians gave up on years ago, is a tragic example on what would happen under Obama's economic plan.
During years of economic growth in 49 states, Michigan suffered under oppressive liberal Democrat policies of high taxes, enormous spending increases and poor leadership.
Detroit's felonious mayor, now serving time, is just one example of corruption in a state that long was revered for innovation and productivity. Today, Michigan's economy is nearly dead. Jobs are scarce, taxes are high, unions have forced jobs to other states and countries, and the only Hollywood actor it can afford to promote it is Jeff Daniels, who grew up there, as I did.
The tragedy is that Michigan is a beautiful state with much to offer. Unfortunately, until the people of Michigan get their heads out of their excrement producers, Michigan will continue to suffer, and hurt the nation's economy along with its own.
Before you place your emotional vote for Obama this election year, think of Michigan, because that's what you'll be replicating.
Joe Biden's 14 Debate Lies
1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to
increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT
VOTE THAT WAY.
2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.
3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”
4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.
5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.
6. ALTERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.
7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people's health insurance coverage -- they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false
8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska -- she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it's not a windfall profits tax.
9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.
10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation -- he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.
11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.
12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.
13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”
14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won't pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

Equal Rights For All - YES on 102
Vote YES on Proposition 102 to make sure all Arizonans have an equal right to marry. Liberals and activist judges are working day and night to change the millennia-old definition of marriage by allowing anyone to marry anyone, thus giving special privileges to some while discriminating against the rest of us.
Same-sex marriage proponents say they should have a right to marry the people they love. A nice thought, but the reality is that no one has the right to marry who they love. If that were true, Cindy Crawford would have my last name.
Same-sex marriage proponents are looking for special rights - the right to marry someone of the same sex - a right afforded to no one else. As it currently stands, every Arizonan has the right to marry someone who agrees of the opposite sex. Let me repeat that, every Arizonan - gay, straight, or other - has the right to marry one person of the opposite sex. Thus, any claims of being discriminated against are simply disingenuous.
The fact is that some people want special rights, and they want to call those special rights "marriage." First of all, special rights for some would discriminate against the rest of us. Second, we shouldn't just change a millennia-old definition to please the sensitivities of a few who wish to form a different union. We aren't (hopefully) going to wake up tomorrow and start calling "oceans" "trees." By the same reasoning, we shouldn't call "gay unions" "marriage" just because an unhappy few want us to do so.
So vote YES on 102 to maintain equal rights for all Arizonans. For more information, visit YesForMarriage.com.
Arizona Right to Life PAC Releases Endorsments
Despite false claims by various organizations and candidates indicating that the endorsements had been completed already, causing much controversy, Arizona Right to Life PAC finalized their official endorsement list only last night. And, as questionnaires trickle in, a few more endorsements could be possible. The list is pretty much finalized, though, according to my rather reliable source.
Was Barney Frank too deep into Freddie, Fannie?
Who's to blame for the crisis? Watch & learn what Barney Frank and John McCain said years ago here...
Democrat Partisanship Fails America Again
First, despite call after call for regulation from Republicans over the last
several years, congressional Democrats failed to act to regulate Fannie
Mae and Freddie Mac. Near catastrophe resulted.
Then, Democrats fail America by heading for the beaches and Disneyland during the oil crisis, taking a month long vacation while ignoring the calls of Americans pleading for relief from climbing gas prices.
Now, at the eleventh hour, and minutes before one of the most important votes in history, Speaker Nancy Pelosi wrecks any chances of the bill passing by tossing false accusations of blame at those who are barely, if at all, culpable. So outrageous were the Speaker's remarks that 1/3 of Democrats decided to vote against the legislation. If just 12 of those 91 opposing Democrats has voted for the bill, it would have passed.
Speaker Pelosi is dangerous. She consistently puts politics and her craving for more power ahead of the country. She needs to resign, or be removed for the sake of our country.
"Tramp Train" Starts in Phoenix
In Detroit, where I grew up, we called the rail system the "Mugger Mover" because few business people in downtown Detroit were ever going to ride it.
Denver actually had the foresight to put the rail line in a place that connects bedroom communities to their jobs, making that rail system a success.
Phoenix has just begun the testing phase of what I call the "Tramp Train," a light rail fiasco that was heavy on costs and travels through some of the more seedy areas of town known well for harboring hookers, whores, and tramps. I don't know anyone that will drive down and leave their cars at 48th Street and Washington and then wait for a train to go downtown. It's simply much faster, easier, and far safer to drive yourself.
While the testing phase is more about mechanics and making automobile drivers aware of the rail cars prior to loading civilians, I wish the testing phase were more of a "try it out for 30 days and return it for a full refund if you aren't completely satisfied" kind of deal. No such luck.
Phoenix is now saddled with this boondoggle, and will be bleeding more money as a result. Nice work "leaders."
The Bridge To Nowhere: Who Really Killed It?
Democrats are claiming Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is lying about "killing the Bridge to Nowhere," a bridge linking a small island in Alaska to the mainland which was to cost about $400 million. Democrats claim that Congress killed the bill and thus killed the bridge.
The reality is that though the bridge language was stripped from the congressional bill, Congress, in it's finite wisdom, decided to send the money for the bridge to Alaska anyway. So although the language was killed, Alaska could have easily built the bridge since they were sent the funds. Palin, as Governor, killed the idea and prudently used the money for other state infrastructural needs.
Trooper-gate: Where's the beef?
Some people with historic memories will remember that the term "Trooper-gate" referred to Bill Clinton's use of state troopers to ferry around his various women of interest while Governor of Arkansas.
Today it has new meaning, and was resurrected to refer to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's alleged effort to apply pressure to have a state trooper fired.
Governor Palin denies the allegations, and the man she supposedly pressured says he was not asked to fire the trooper. Nonetheless, Democrats are investigating.
For the sake of an interesting academic exercise, let's assume the worst and review this as though the Governor did as is alleged.
The man the Governor allegedly tried to have fired was the former husband of her sister. The trooper had threatened the life of the Governor's father, and had used a taser on a 10 year old boy.
I ask you, what is wrong with a Governor asking why this guy is allowed to remain a state trooper given his abuse of power, threats on someone's life, and the violence toward a 10 year old boy? To me, the Governor is completely within her rights, and probable obligations, to inquire as to why the rogue officer was still employed.
Does any honest person, regardless of who they support in the election, believe a man with the aforementioned issues should be allowed to be a state trooper? I think not, and if not, why is this new Trooper-gate treated as any kind of scandal? It seems that this is nothing more than a political witch hunt.
Obama Slams Seniors
Barack Obama released a new ad today attacking John McCain for not knowing how to use a computer.
The ad is already backfiring, as seniors across the country feel ridiculed for having been born before the computer age.
Senator Obama needs to remember that seniors were working in and defending this nation long before the dawn of the computer age. And, life and running the country are far more complex than computer games.
The Senator needs to apologize.
Talk Show Hosts Hurt Republican Cause
A few years ago, it occurred to me that some right-leaning talk show hosts do more damage than good for our cause. As a conservative, I find it frustrating that people who are supposedly on our side can do so much damage, and negatively impact the very causes they claim to support.
I think there are several tiers of talk show hosts that are right-leaning. The classiest of all talk show hosts has to be Dennis Prager. He does not personally attack guests or subjects of discussion, and treats callers with considerable respect and dignity. Callers, though they may be corrected, return to his show day after day because they were not abused or called names. Thus, Prager is able to continually teach and persuade, which he does very successfully.
Tier two contains, Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Miller, Laura Ingraham and Rush Limbaugh. They are only on a different tier than Prager because they often hit back harder, and can sometimes go after callers and guests who display egregious idiocy. They are far more classy than tier five, however, and they dialog and not attack their guests, and treat callers respectfully.
Tier five includes Mark Levin and Michael Savage. There are no tiers three or four, indicating just how bad is tier five. Though Levin isn't quite as bad as Savage, he attacks callers and attempts to make them feel stupid. He calls them names and attacks them personally. Savage's show is just disgusting on all levels. There is simply nothing redeeming about it, and it is nothing short of an embarrassment to Republican and conservative ideals. It is my belief that the hosts in this tier do far more harm to our causes than good. And though I agree with them on many issues, I simply can't listen to their shows. Most good people I know can't either.
In Phoenix, we have two talk show hosts that are also in tier five. Those are JD Hayworth and Bruce Jacobs. Jacobs, a vehemently anti-Catholic bigot, has nothing to offer people besides personal attacks. Accidentally catching his show this morning, I heard him say Barack Obama "hates" this country. Then he went on to attack Michelle Obama personally. I was disgusted. No honest person believes Obama "hates" America. JD Hayworth has great stuff to say, but is still on the same attack-dog track that cost him his last election. He comes off as angry and belligerent, and it's a big turnoff to listeners.
I think Republican and conservative causes would be much better served if certain talk show hosts would learn to display class and decency. Disagree with people on issues all you want, but be honest, respectful, and polite. It is those qualities - those exemplified by the hosts in the first two tiers - that draw people into our causes. Education, persuasion and example succeed, not attacks and anger - two tools usually attributed to the left.
If we want to continue to win elections and help Americans learn about the correctness of our causes, the rest of us - the listeners, need to rebel against the jackals who embarrass us all.
Palin Fares Well Against Condescending Gibson
Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin sat down with Charlie Gibson of ABC News today for her first network interview since becoming John McCain's running mate. Despite what were very condescending questions from Gibson, about whether or not she's met a head of state and where she's traveled outside the US, Palin fared pretty well. If she was off at all, it most likely due to her frustration with being spoken down to by a New York media elitist who was clearly treating her like a schoolgirl.
Gibson clearly began the interview with a job to do - discredit her. His bias was very evident, and though Sarah didn't, I would have punched him had he asked me some of the same questions. Gibson's assumption was clear - that a Governor of a western state and mother of five must by definition be clueless.
The View's Elizabeth Hasselbeck Assailed For Comments
At a Cindy McCain luncheon last week, Elizabeth Hasselbeck mentioned that Cindy McCain came on The View, a left-wing daytime rant show where Hasselbeck is the only one even remotely right-leaning, without any off-limits questions.
Here's what Hasselbeck said, "Cindy came into our hair and makeup room fresh as can be, and unlike another wife of a political candidate who shall remain nameless, she didn't come with a list of topics we weren't allowed to touch....nope, that's because she has nothing to hide." View video.
Liberals are in a frenzy because Hasselbeck supposedly outed Mrs. Obama as someone who can't answer tough questions. Yet Hasselbeck never mentioned her name, and the show has had on plenty of politicians.
Hasselbeck is being called, among far more vicious things, unprofessional and tacky. I don't know the show's rules about speaking about guests but I can assure you far worse things have been said on the show itself about Republicans such as Bush and Palin.
The big issue here is not that Hasselbeck said it, it's that Michelle Obama had a list of off-limits topics. What were those topics, and why are they off-limits? Blaming Hasselbeck for Michelle Obama's list is like blaming Bob Woodward for Watergate. Blame the messenger, not the culprit.
Not to worry about Hasselbeck in this controvery; she's a survivor. :) Keeping kicking butt Elizabeth!
