Media, Obama Afraid of Abortion Issue

8 October 2008 - 7:25pm
There have been a number of articles asking why the abortion issue has yet to find its way into the debates. I am amused that people are not stating the obvious. Barack Obama does not want to talk about his radical abortion position. After his performance at Saddleback where he dismissed the issue as “above his pay grade” and suffered a very public and negative reaction to that remark, after he selected Joe Biden, a so-called Catholic with a horrible pro-abortion voting record, and after the remarks of Nancy Pelosi who in simple terms told the bishops to mind their place, Barack needs to stay far away from that very volatile issue.

If you recall Barack tried to approach the religious segments of this country by talking about his faith and that he was a Christian. He hoped to smooth talk past the issues and hope Christians would feel that he was sincere and nice and cared. It has had the requisite effect thus far. He polls well among those who think that he is religious. Well, I am sure that the Reverend Wright is religious. But then so were the Pharisees. They were religious and laid out the law. Yet the words of the Gospel speak to care and concern for all innocent human life. How one can claim to follow the Gospel and believe that killing babies is no big deal, is beyond my comprehension. Yet that is Barack Obama’s argument.

He asks people to believe in “change.” Yet the “change” he proposes will result in more dead babies.

He wants to end one war he claims, only to ignite another within the womb of America.

He wants us to ignore his friends and supporters who have committed terrorist acts against the United States, but he would unleash the terror of Planned Parenthood into our nation’s barrios and ghettos to “weed” out the “less than fit,” the “less than perfect,” those who are a “burden to the nation.” After all the motto of Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, was to “create a race of thoroughbreds.”

So the media will not mention the subject of abortion. The media does not want the Hispanic, Latino, Mexican, Cuban, Filipino Puerto Rican communities discussing Obama’s support for abortion, for homosexual entitlements, for the privatizing of religion. He does not want you to know that he holds your faith in contempt.

These may seem like harsh words. But Barack Obama has people who support him who would destroy the Catholic Church if they could. Barack Obama has supporters who hate the Catholic Church and all it holds as sacred. And believe me if you think that economy is in trouble today, wait until the socialists who make up Barack’s economic team get through with it.

So the press will not discuss abortion, especially not after it saw how the public reacted to the “above my pay grade remark.” The press does not want to talk about infanticide and how Obama voted against protecting born infants who survive abortion. The press does not want to talk about his support for the Freedom of Choice Act and including abortion in universal health care insurance. The press wants everyone to feel that he is the one who can help them out of the current situation.

Our friends on Talk radio have got to raise the three most important values issues and remind the American people of the stark differences between the two candidates.

THE LIFE ISSUES – Abortion, infanticide and euthanasia.

McCain is Pro-life. He opposes abortion on demand. He knows that a human being’s life begins at conception. He will appoint judges who will respect the right to life as stated in the Declaration of Independence. He will appoint judges who will respect the rights of the people.

Obama is pro-abortion. He supports abortion on demand through the entire nine months of pregnancy. He opposes any laws that would restrict abortion in any way. He supports a federal law to wipe out all of the state restrictions and parental consent laws passed throughout the U.S. He will appoint judges who will enshrine abortion into the constitution. He wants universal heath care including abortion paid for by taxpayer dollars.

MARRIAGE

McCain supports the traditional definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. He voted for the Defense of Marriage Act and supports states enacting protection for marriage. He opposes redefining marriage to include homosexual unions.

Obama voted against the Defense of Marriage Act. He wants to repeal it. He supports same sex marriage and opposes the right of the people to define marriage as being between q man and a woman.

PARENTS’ RIGHTS TO DIRECT THEIR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION

McCain believes in parental rights to control and direct the education of one’s children without the interference of the state. McCain believes in school choice, in vouchers, in charter schools, and in those innovative ways to allow parents the freedom and opportunity to obtain for their children the best education possible. He wants to change the status quo and allow especially poor and working class families grater accessibility to good school.

Obama opposes school choice. He wants government schools to have the control. He opposes any efforts by parents to direct and control their children’s education. The teacher’s union and the government are in charge. He was a part of a radical effort to indoctrinate children in the public schools with his buddy Bill Ayers. He opposes tax credits, tuition vouchers or anything that would expand opportunities.

So on the values issues, there is only one candidate who truly cares about the family, marriage, children. His name is John McCain.

Now is not the time to be faint of heart. We must encourage others to get out the vote for the one man who will stand up and defend life. – John McCain.

Remaining Focused

6 October 2008 - 10:05pm
A number of friends throughout the country have contacted me lately wondering in what direction this election will turn. Some are admittedly anxious and concerned about the recent polls and the number of states that remain in play. Their frustrations over the last two weeks would seem to support the media's efforts to play the inevitability game in order to depress the vote and weaken the resolve of McCain supporters.

But I informed these colleagues that this is precisely what the media is doing. The only problem is that their understanding of the American people is limited. True, they understand the short attention span of the public and its generally optimistic and forgiving nature. They successfully exploited such sentiments when Bill Clinton was president.

However this is a different situation and I think that the latest effort by the media is to either ignore McCain or cast him and Palin in a bad light. The so-called financial crisis has been used by the press to create the idea that it was a Republican problem and hence the fault of George Bush. But the use of the Internet and the constant eye of C-SPAN has made a mockery of the so-called mainstream media and any objectivity they may claim to possess. The videos of Barney Frank and other Democrats complaining that the all the Republicans want to do is investigate and regulate is almost humorous given the grim revelations of fraud, collusion and deceit by Obama and his advisers.

So do the people know what is happening?

Do they know - really know - who Barack Obama is?

And can they tell me what has he done to show me that he is qualified to run for president?

Here is what I know.

He is an EXTREME pro-abortion candidate supported by Planned Parenthood.

He is in favor of abortion through the entire nine months of pregnancy and has voted against every reasonable restriction regarding abortion.

He opposed the nominations of Justice Roberts and Alito.

He called Clarence Thomas being on the court a mistake.

He is a stooge and lackey of Planned Parenthood and has embraced their anti-Christian and anti-Catholic behavior by calling for the passage of the Freedom of Choice act. The bill would nullify all anti-abortion restrictions, limitations and parental controls throughout the state.

Barack Obama does not believe in the process of letting the people decide these issues. He thinks the courts should decide. His statements seem to support the position that the court should rule us all. But then that has always been the attitude of the Left. The Left has always been wary of the people deciding anything. Only the elite should decide.

So what is to be done.

First lets get something straight. The only poll important is the one on election day. We have less than a month to get out our people to support the cause of life. No believer of life, no believer in the right to life can vote for Obama. He is not qualified to receive the vote of those who would support and protect unborn life. It is very simple. We cannot support a candidate who supports partial birth abortion, infanticide, and has opposed reasonable restrictions on abortion. No matter what you read, no matter how the press tries to spin it, no matter what so-called Christians who have drunk the kool-aid tell you, Obmama is a believer in killing unborn babies. I wish it was not true. But it is. Then again this a a fellow who cut his teeth in Chicago politics. He is a crony of Bill Ayers, the Weather Underground terrorist. Why he is not in jail is an interesting question. Perhaps it is that due process of law that he was trying to destroy. Add to him the financial advisers that came from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Throw in the Rev. Wright, who has this problem with white folks and one has a pretty good argument for opposing the likes of Barack Obama.

You see, someone who would side with Planned Parenthood against his own people must be considered questionable. It was after all Jesse Jsckson, who in his younger and less corrupt days said that poor women did not want abortions and that abortion was Black genocide. But that was before Jesse decided to run for president.

Second. There is a lot of work to be done and it can get done. If the Catholics and the Evangelicals who support the right to life vote, McCain wins. If the Catholics realize that they control the fate of this nation and do the right thing, McCain wins. If the Evangelicals stand up for marriage and for life, the pro-life movement and the babies and John McCain win.

But it requires effort. Especially in the Midwest where the economic downturn is affecting a lot of people, they need to get on their knees, confess their sins and ask God to heal the Land.

So be not afraid.

Pray as if it depends on God.
Work as if it depends on you.
Trust that the Lord will show mercy upon this nation.

Do not give up. Don't ever quit. The lives of future generations depend on you.

The betrayal of Doug Kmiec

4 October 2008 - 12:53am
Many of us have marveled at the complete transition of Doug Kmiec from conservative pro-life legal scholar to abortion apologist for Barack Obama. Having written initially about his betrayal, I professed my amazement that he could in good conscience support a person who has publicly declared his support for the Freedom of Choice Act, a person who has embraced in totality the philosophy of Planned Parenthood and a person who has never voted for a measure that would limit abortions in any way.
Barack Obama is so totally pro-abortion that to vote for him is to vote for Planned Parenthood.
I had hoped that Doug Kmiec would just fade away into irrelevance and I would have to comment on his betrayal of the life principles no more.
Alas, tis not to be. For he has helped with another website that falsely pretends to state that Obama is pro-life and he even puts up a defense of Obama that totally distorts the facts.
So I must once again warn anyone who comes across this site that it is a pack of lies designed to mislead, misrepresent and misinform the reader. Unfortunately honesty is the first thing to fall in the world of the pro-abortion defender. As a close friend said to me recently, those who support abortion have no problem telling lies.
Here are the facts.
Obama is more pro-abortion than any recent presidential candidate in memory. He is the product of radical left wing thinking. He wants abortion on demand and will oppose any restrictions on abortion. He thinks that women can get abortions any time, any place and age. He favors government funding of abortion. He opposes any restrictions on abortion, meaning that he wants abortion available throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy.
While his use of Doug Kmiec is an effort to woo Catholics, everything Obama believes in is the antithesis of Catholic beliefs. The Church recognizes Science and medicine to identify the beginning of each human person. Obama believes that knowing when human life begins is “above his pay grade.” Either Obama is stupid or he is lying. My 5 year old knows that what is in the mother’s womb is a baby. I think Obama knows as well, but he is so beholden to the pro-abortionists for his place in the U.S. Senate that he cannot stand to tell the truth.
But Doug Kmiec knows that abortion kills an unborn child. So his betrayal of the pro-life cause is even more disgusting. Now He seeks to lead others down his death embracing path. He wants people to believe that one can support a pro-abortion candidate without imperiling one’s soul. That takes a great deal of gall. But then it has long been known that when a person decided to commit to something, he would have all others either agree with him or suffer the consequences. It is why Henry VII could not suffer Thomas More to live. It is why Herod could not let John the Baptist remain free. And tragically it is why Doug Kmiec has to promote the election of Barack Obama. His logic is flawed and his arguments are superficial. But he is committed to his new master in a way that is almost pitiable.

Gov. Sarah Palin Wins Debate

3 October 2008 - 4:21pm
I watched the debate last night and while I would agree that Senator Joe Biden did what he was suppose to do in order not to look stupid, Governor Sarah Palin resented so much energy to the event as to clearly win the debate and re-establish her credentials with the American people. She was articulate and prepared, handling the event with the confidence that people wanted to see. Now both candidates did not answer all the questions directly, but what one saw was the real side of both persons. Biden looked and sounded like a senator, even to the point of making his typical senatorial gaffes. One would not know he was making all sorts of mistakes it unless one was an expert those topics, such as his misstatements on Lebanon.

So give it up for the Governor who once again has redirected the conversation back to the differences between Obama and John McCain.

I think that he media does not want to touch on the issues between the candidates because the more the differences are noted, the better John McCain looks to the American people.

time to get serious

30 September 2008 - 9:28pm
The last few days the economic problems of Wall Street have stolen all of the time, attention and energy from the presidential campaign. All of this is being fanned by the media which sees it inuring to the benefit of Barack Obama. Certain Democrats and Republicans in Washington have been to willing to trust everything to one person. Fortunately the people want some more safeguards and some real reform of the system. So how do these events affect the life issues?

First I find the timing interesting. Forget October surprise. they want an entire fall set of surprises.

Second, it was interesting that as long as the social issues, marriage, family, pro-life were in the news, McCain's stock was rising and Obama's falling. This once again proves the unconventional wisdom that being pro-life is a winning issue.

The press was frustrated that Obama was not doing better. They even began to play the race card. Then Paulson comes out with the "sky is falling" announcement and all of a sudden the media is in control talking about issues that the average person cannot easily understand without a grease board.

Well there is no doubt that the r is a serious situation that must be properly addressed. But as one might advise a client, never sign anything without reading or understanding it. The risks are just too great. That advice applies to Congress as well.

So with the "above my pay grade" gift being shelved for now, we in the pro-life movement have got to get back to good old fashioned one on one communications. Each of us needs to promote to sympathetic voters the importance of electing John McCain. Depending on how the person is approaching the campaign will affect your arguments to support McCain. If the person is of a particular religious persuasion, use the teachings of that tradition to help them form their conscience to choose wisely. If the person likes to think of himself as logical and analytical, use the common sense arguments that do not touch upon religion. Understand your audience.

From a pro-life point of view, there is no choice. John McCain will act to protect human life, will not promote abortion, will select judges who respect the natural law
and the constitution, and will not allow your tax dollars to be spent killing babies.

Barack Obama will do the opposite.

Obama is owned and controlled lock stock and barrel by Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortion services in the world. They want abortions paid for by the taxpayer. So if Planned parenthood gets its way, the over one million abortions would cosat teh taxpayer anywhere from 600,000,000 to 1,000,000,000 dollars.

Obsma supports the so called Freedom of Choice Act that would dismantle all state laws restricting abortions.

He will choose only liberal pro-abortion judges for the Supreme Court.

The Democrats have embraced the culture of death with their platform and with their candidate.

Only you and I are set to keep them from destroying this country though the wholesale marketing of abortion.

This is not hyperbole. These are the facts.

No one who truly respects human life can support people who would allow for its destruction.

send a donation to Arizona Right to Life so we can continue to educate the public on the truth about the destructive nature of abortion - a destructive nature not just to the mother, not just to the child, not just to the father, but the the whole natuion as well.

Palin draws 60,000 = press ignores her

23 September 2008 - 5:51pm
Sarah Palin drew a crowd of over 60,000 people in Florida the other day.

The reaction of the press- ho hum.

Ask yourself where did you hear about the crowds.

Did you hear about the 18,000 who met her in Colorado Springs?

And she did not have to hire a rock band to draw the people.

Let me predict that the way that the mainstream media is going to deal with Palin from now on is to ignore her. They think that she is simply a creation of their obsession and if they do not talk about her, she will go away.

The truth is that Gov. Sarah Palin strikes a chord with all Americans.
She loves her country in an honest forthright way.
She believes in God and is not afraid to say she wants to do His will.
She loves life, born and unborn, and family and her husband and her children.
She became governor not through marriage, or by knowing the powers that be, or by eliminating the competition through the old boys' network, but with hard work and an honest message of reform.

She continues to surprise everyone. She is the Alaskan Avalanche.

Now keep passing the word that Sarah Palin has the media shaking in their collective boots.

And make sure everyone is registered to vote.

A Powerful Witness for Life

16 September 2008 - 6:57pm
In a powerful witness for life, Gianna Jessen challenges Barack Obama on his support for infanticide. Gianna is a survivor of a failed abortion when she was seven months in the womb. Listen to her testimony and then pass this on to anyone who thinks Barack Obama ought to be president.

The Stakes Are High - the unborn depend on you

11 September 2008 - 12:47am
Perhaps it is my simple faith in the basic decency of people that accounts for my generally optimistic view of the world. Yes, I know man is fallen and prone to sin. Yes, I realize that there will never be heaven on earth and that every day affords each of us an opportunity to grow in the grace of God. That having been said, why is it that among those who should be pleased with the choice of Governor Palin, a strongly pro-life candidate who chose life for her most recent child, do I find rancor and bitterness and a doomsday mentality?

Is it because their old enemy John McCain has turned out to be a fairly smart politician? Or is it perhaps that he has actually listened to those who have advised him to choose someone that could relate to the base?

How many times does he have to state it for the record that he is pro-life? How many times does he have to promise to select judges like Roberts and Alito? How many times does he have to point out his 26 year record of pro-life votes?

McCain's selection of Governor Sarah Palin has energised the Republican Party in a way that I have never in my 36 years of political life ever seen. She has excited people who were glum about this election. She has reminded women that they do not have not settle for warmed over dried out pro-abortion feminism to put a woman in the White House or at least next door. She has shown a real compassion for for children in a way that dismisses the liberal village approach to that corner. She is sharp and if you do not believe me, then watch her on some of the interviews this past spring.

For all the noise surrounding John McCain, I see someone who truly believes that he is following a special call this time. His love of country is genuine. He is as Peggy Noonan has characterized from the "old America." As I have watched him, I have noticed a difference in the way he carries himself. There is a "something" that has given me the opinion that he is really listening to those of us who also care about this country.

The stakes are very high. This is not some lab experiment where we have more than one chance to get it right. The election of a Democrat who favors abortion, who wants to promote abortion, who calls pregnancy a punishment, who cannot with an honest face tell us when a baby gets human rights, who misrepresented his position on the infanticide bill while in the State senate in Illinois, who has promised planned Parenthood that the first bill he wants to sing into law is the Freedom of Choice Act which would nullify all state law restrictions on abortion and who wants tax payer funded abortion through universal health care, would be a disaster for the children and their mothers.

So please do not waste your vote on a third party candidate. Ask these third party candidates why they have not been building up their constituencies over the last four years. Ask them why they want to see Barack Obama win the White House. Ask them to justify having the Democrats control both the executive and legislative branches of government. Ask them to remember the Carter days.

Then remember what I have said about this campaign all along.

McCain is pro-life. (the stem cell issue is, thanks to science, yesterday's news and he knows it and supports adult stem cell research).

McCain will select pro-life judges. Please remember if he is elected and the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary want to play games, he will not compromise with those former colleagues, he will pick some brother senator like a John Cornyn from Texas who is well respected by his colleagues. He is not going to let them define him or control him.

McCain wants Roe v. Wade reversed. He has repeatedly stated that he wants Roe reversed. He has told me numerous times that it is a terrible decision. He recently said it during an interview the other day.

McCain wants to improve the prospects for adopting children. Think about it. There are over 2 million couples certified to adopt and over 1 million abortions each year. McCain has an adopted daughter. He and his wife Cindy will be advocates to promote adoption over abortion. With fellows like Senator Sam Brownback to assist, we could create an environment that welcomes children as opposed to disposing of them.

McCain wants to shrink the size of government and reduce wasteful spending. What is more wasteful than giving Planned Parenthood money for its sickening programs. A McCain-Palin Administration could shut off the wasteful spending and seriously cripple Planned Parenthood.

I realize that setting aside old grudges is difficult. Yet for the sake of the unborn children I would hope that we all could agree to set aside differences and work to elect McCain-Palin and defeat the pro-abortionists Obama and Biden.

The pro-abort media crack-up

9 September 2008 - 1:14am
Te entry of Sarah Palin in to the race has really thrown the mainstream media for a loop.

Now their articles have gone from the vitriolic to the absurd. Take for example the article in Newsweek by Jacob Weisberg.

Not only are his arguments silly, but the whole premise is stupid. I realize that it may seem harsh but lets just look at the headline of the story.

Palin's pro-life extremism is as ethically flawed as it is politically damaging to the GOP.

First he calls being "pro-life" extremist. So if I want someone to protect you form being killed, I am an extremist?

Then he uses the term "ethically flawed" to describe Governor Palin's decision not to kill her baby.

Weisberg then attempts to shoehorn some major inconsistencies, such as supporting the right of the child to be born somehow undermines the stable family home. Forget thew fact that he ignores the long term negative consequences of killing the baby both upon the baby and the mother. He dismisses the story in the movie Juno as unrealistic -except that I have personally handled those types of adoptions where it was a win-win for those concerned. Then he attempts to once again embellish the myth that McCain really wanted Ridge as vice president but could not because of us nasty pro-life extremists.

These lefties are really freaking out. Sorry to say that but it is true. Because we did not condemn the Palin family, because we did not demand that Sarah stay home and raise that Downs baby and not go near the public office, and because we expressed compassion and sympathy for what we all knows happens every so often even in the best families, we are all extremists and Jacob Weisberg is mad.

Flunking High School Biology

8 September 2008 - 7:30pm
Perhaps the American education system is not so great after all.

Perhaps we need to review what it is we are teaching our students especially in biology.

I say this because I am once again flabbergasted to read that not only does the democratic presidential nominee claim not to know when human life begins, but now we have the vice presidential hopeful stating that while he believes life begins at conception, it is a matter not of science but of faith.

It seems Joe Biden was asked on Meet the Press when life began. He told Tom Brokaw that for him, life began at conception. But instead of recognizing the scientific reality such an answer reflects, he made it into an article of faith.

The problem is for Joe Biden that it is not an article of faith. It is a scientific fact.

Is he a part of the flat earth society that believes the earth is flat?
Would he have argued in the 1850s that while he believed that Blacks were human beings, he could not impose such a belief on his fellow man through laws that would protect all persons?

What about atheists? Can they not know the facts of life without believing in God?
Did someone tell Nat Hentoff about this?

Has Biden read what Hentoff has said about Obama?

Acknowledging the humanity of the unborn child is not an act of faith. Any person can use his reason to determine from the scientific evidence when the individual human person's life begins. Biology tells all of us, even Joe Biden and Barack Obama, that the human being commences his or her life at the moment of conception. If you cannot read, just watch an ultrasound of an eleven week old unborn baby and tell me who or what is moving in the mother's womb.

And it is not exactly difficult to do a little homework to figure out the the unborn child is a member of the human family.

A couple of fellows though who cannot figure out the difference between accepting something on faith as opposed to understanding science do not strike me as competent to hold the highest office in the land.

Perhaps they need to repeat high school biology.

A successful Conference

7 September 2008 - 8:58pm
this weekend's AZRTL Conference was a great success due to the extraordinary efforts of our staff and the wonderful speakers who came into Arizona to share their thoughts and dreams on how to aid to the struggle to protect all human life.

If you wanted to attend but were unable, we have the talks available for a small donation. Of course we always appreciate any gift you might be able to make to help us in our work.

Again our thanks to the speakers, the volunteers who helped put together the conference and all though who attended.
Perhaps we can all agree to increase the level of our involvement in this most important work of saving the unborn and protecting those being threatened because of their infirmity.

Sarah Palin Delivers

4 September 2008 - 9:18am
Last night at the GOP Convention everyone anticipated Governor Sarah Palin's address to the delegates. The excitement was amazing and the fears of some were only matched by the confidence of others.

Well as you know by now she hit a home run. Or as one delegate said a grand slam.

As i listened to the speech, I could feel the excitement around me as she delivered each line with grace, poise and determination. After she would make an important point, she would pause and smile just a little, as if to say, don't mess with me.

Today as the GOP prepares for McCain's address to the nation, even the liberal pundits had to sit up and take notice that the small town major and governor form the energy rich state of Alaska is not going to wilt under the pressure of liberal biased media.

Perhaps now the campaign will focus on issues.

Perhaps now we can compare the Democratic Candidate who considers pregnancy a punishment with the Republican Candidate who welcomed and adopted a little baby with special medical needs

The one who cannot answer a simple question about when we as people get human rights versus John McCain who knows that all human rights commence at conception.

See you on Friday at the AZRTL dinner and Saturday at the AZRTL Conference. You can still register by clicking here.

At the GOP Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota

3 September 2008 - 12:49pm
Well here I am at the GOP convention. Arrived Tuesday afternoon and after a short visit to the St. Paul Cathedral ( beautiful), I made my way to the Xcel Center where I met up with Hugh Hewitt and listened to Tommy Espinoza of Phoenix give one of the speeches in support of Senator McCain. what i found very interesting was the lack of any coverage in the local press to the story about a major Hispanic leader speaking at the republican convention. His remarks were powerful and from the heart.

The convention has been galvanized by McCain's pick of Governor Palin. And as Peggy Noonan said, her entry into the world of national politics would change the face of women in politics for years to come. If the Republicans can get behind this team and share her story with the American people, there will be such a response as none have seen.

Americans are looking for authenticity. They want real people, not fluff stuff served up by a condescending media and elitist press. While they are capable of great periods of apathy, at heart all of us want what is best for the nation.

Protecting human life is something good, true and beautiful .

Sarah Palin wants to protect all innocent human life.

So the media has set out to destroy her. And it will continue to get even more viscous as the media realizes that there is not much to use. They cannot allow for an articulate conservative woman to be liked by the American people. It violates their world view that an accomplished women would be pro-life, pro-family, and fiscally sound. Imagine what would happen to the liberal control of the Democratic party if Democrat women realized that they did not have to kiss the feet of the pro=abortion pro-homosexual power in the party. Imagine if Latinos and Blacks told the party that they do not and will not support the culture of death but instead want a culture of Life. Imagine woman and men doing what is natural to their nature - defending and protecting innocent human life.

The attacks on Sarah and her family have been horrid. But they are only words compared with the attack the enemy makes every day on the unborn babies throughout this country. Stand up and defend the right to life. Get involved as if your life and their lives depend on it.

Hopefully I will be able to post more as the day continues.

McCain -Palin - What a team !!!!!!

29 August 2008 - 9:58am
On July 31, 2008 I wrote here about Sarah Palin and agreed that she would be an exciting energizing pick.

Well, this thought was not lost upon the McCain camp. In a masterstroke that highlights the core principles of the best of the American tradition, McCain has chosen a person who is living proof of the American dream made reality. Sarah Palin is pro-family, pro-life, populist. She is a reformer who took on the establishment in her home state. She is a believer in the 2nd Amendment, believes that we should be energy independent, and knows what the average American deals with every day. She is a working mom. She can relate to Americans across this nation whether they work in the boardroom or the stockroom.

I liked her comments this morning. She acknowledged her husband and mentioned that they have been married 20 years and today is their anniversary. she told them about their oldest son who is serving our nation in the u.S. Army in Iraq. She introduced her children to the sound of resounding applause at the event in Dayton, Ohio. She recognized the challenge ahead.

I have spoken with friends all over the country. The base is energized. Now is the time for all of us to come to the aid of our country (I love that line). One person said that she was so excited because it showed that McCain was listening to the grassroots.

I like it that the choice has completely taken the media and the press by surprise.

Thank you, John.

Now on to victory in November.

Tim Pawlenty ?

28 August 2008 - 7:10pm
The latest buzz is that the choice for the Republican vice president will be Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota.

This is a solid choice, a positive choice and one that will not hurt McCain. It will help in the Midwest and surrounding regions. Pawlenty is very likable, intelligent and can work under adverse situations.

John fund of the Wall Street Journal wrote an interesting story on him today.

While I liked the idea of Gov. Palin from Alaska, Pawlenty brings a lot to the table without some of the baggage of the other contenders.

Two thumbs up.

Biden and Pelosi - Dumb and Dumber

One would think that the advisers to he Democrats would realize that bringing up the abortion issue does not win them votes among Catholics as a rule. So why is it that someone has not talked to Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and explained it to them.

Old Joe probably would not understand. After all he knows the baby is alive not by science but by faith.

And ...Well... with the Speaker, perhaps it is because she knows everything.

After being gently rebuked on Monday for the stupid remarks she made on Meet the Press, Pelosi fired back today through her spokesman again citing Augustine as her support.

Ironic that tomorrow August 28th is the Feast of St. Augustine and that today is the feast of his mother St. Monica.

Well for those who want to understand the issue, here is the thumbnail version. Abortion was condemned by the Catholic Church since the beginning and remains to this day a mortal (very serious grievous) sin. The early church fathers did not care whether the soul had "animated " the fetus or not. It was still a serious evil. Augustine was applying 4th century medicine to understand the question. He did not have 4d ultrasound at his disposal. Can anyone including Nancy Pelosi look at a 4d ultrasound of an 11 week old unborn baby and NOT tell me the baby is alive?

Maybe we need to put 4d ultrasound movies of 11 week old unborn babies on television so that everyone, including Nancy Pelosi, will know that the unborn baby is alive and kicking?

do you think that if St. Augustine could view an ultrasound, he would agree that the baby is alive?

Since he opposed abortion even without knowing the scientific and medical facts that we now know, do you think that his opposition to abortion would increase to include as culpable all who are aware of this evil and do nothing to stop it?

Do you think he would have any kind words for Speaker Pelosi?

Here is the deal. Perhaps the Catholic bishop in her diocese will be forced to do something instead of ignoring the problem as he has done since he has been appointed. We are still waiting for a statement.

Perhaps the rest of the Catholic bishops throughout the country, who have pro-abortion "Catholic" representatives and senators exploiting the Catholic name, will excommunicate these individuals who are giving scandal to the "little ones" and force them to "choose" whether they want abortion or Christ.

There is something that hey are free to choose.

Do they want the abortion "choice" or the "choice" to receive Christ in the Holy Eucharist?

If Speaker Pelosi wants to receive Holy Communion, she must be in union with her Church and the Church's teachings.

Her bishop needs to act promptly lest he give scandal.

To all pro-life Democrats who are Catholic, this is what compromising on the abortion issue has done to your party. You are about to nominate a person for president who opposed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, supports partial birth abortion, is in league with Planned Parenthood and thinks that trying to determine when a baby get human rights is "above his pay grade."

Obama has picked Senator Biden to be his vice president. Biden flipped from a pro-life position after he decided he wanted to run for president in 1988. so he is not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Biden - pro-abortion extremist or just pro-abortion dumb?

25 August 2008 - 8:23pm
Everyone knows about good ol' Joe "can't stop talking" Biden. Well did you know that in the old days he actually once opposed abortion. Then he wanted to rise in the ranks of the Democratic Party. He wanted to be president. So he jettisoned his pro-life principles. Here is what he had to say in 2007.

Q: You have changed your position on abortion. When you came to the Senate, you believed that Roe v. Wade was not correctly decided and that you also believed the right of abortion was not secured by the Constitution. Why did you change your mind?

A: Well, I was 29 years old when I came to the US Senate, and I have learned a lot. Look, I'm a practicing Catholic, and it is the biggest dilemma for me in terms of comporting my religious and cultural views with my political responsibility.

Q: Do you believe that life begins at conception?

A: I am prepared to accept my church's view. I think it's a tough one. I have to accept that on faith. That's why the late-term abortion ban, where there's clearly viability.

Here we go again. Someone who flunked biology. It is a wonder these guys even have children with the absurd statements that dome out of their lips.

and these are the people running for public office.

Normally i like to comment strictly on the issues.

But this is getting so bizarre.

Perhaps we need to have the Congress take a refresher course on the Birds and the Bees 101.

Oh and get this - "political responsibility" means throwing the unborn children under the bus.

McCain - thank you for picking a really Pro-life VP

25 August 2008 - 8:16pm
With the selection by Obama of Joe Biden to be his vice presidential running mate, John McCain can make the Democrats really squirm by choosing a strong pro-life running mate. The clarity will be beautiful. McCain and his pick like children, want to let them live, support adoption, oppose infanticide, partial birth abortion and think that human rights should protect all of God's children.

So to all those who are fretting about the selection, call the Senator and thank him for making a choice that will protect all of the children.

By the way to those doing the vetting, this means that Romney is out of the running. Too much baggage.

Pelosi flunks Life 101 and Religious history 101

25 August 2008 - 7:09pm
One would think with all the information available these days to anyone with a half a mind to look, that Speaker Pelosi would know where babies come from. I could not help but laugh at her down right stupid remarks on Meet the Press yesterday with Tom Brokaw. When asked what she would counsel Obama after he tripped all over Rick Warren's question on abortion at the Saddleback forum, Pelosi said, "I would say that as an ardent, practicing Catholic, this is an issue that I have studied for a long time. And what I know is, over the centuries, the doctors of the Church have not been able to make that definition.”

Huh?

Where has she been for the last 35 years?

When Brokaw tried to help her by noting that Church has long said that life begins at conception, Pelosi said, “I understand. And this is like maybe 50 years or something like that. So again, over the history of the Church, this is an issue of controversy.”

Does she really think that American Catholics are that stupid?

First of all when the human person begins his or her life has very little to do with religion or faith or what one "believes." Science or more specifically medical science or the science of biology answers the $64,000 question. Ask any mom carrying a baby in her womb and she knows the answer. Look it up in Arey's "Developmental Anatomy" or William's "Obstetrics." An individual human being's life begins at conception or fertilization - depending what language one wishes to use.

So Pelosi flunks Life 101.

As for the teaching of the Catholic Church, her answer reminded me of a debate i had many years ago with Gloria Feldt of Planned parenthood. she was very crafty but not very accurate in her understanding of history, especially Church history. She made the absurd comment that the Catholic Church did not condemn abortion until 1869. she cited Vatican I. well she was correct that the Church did condemn abortion in 1869 during Vatican I. But she neglected to mention ( and that is where I was able to shed some light on the rest of the the story) that the Catholic Church has condemned abortion at every major council of the Church and that the church's condemnation of abortion goes all the way back to the first century in the writings of the Didache and the Letter of Barnabas. I then also cited the historical condemnation of abortion in the Hippocratic Oath and the 2000 years of consistent condemnation of abortion. I also pointed out the universal condemnation by the Protestant reformers Calvin, and Luther.Needless to say she had very little to say about the history question after I was finished.

Pelosi has very little respect of the average American voter.

She has no respect for the millions of unborn children currently growing in their mother's womb.

She is an embarrassment.
